Our events are usually on Wednesday every 6 weeks from 4-7pm. All of our events are casual and fun with lots of opportunities for new connections. We strive to create a safe space free of judgement in which all voices are honored with respect and confidentiality. We value inclusion, accessibility and diversity in our work together.

Events are a mix of:

  • Experiential dating exercises
  • Peer-to-peer discussions
  • Fun social hangouts
  • Games, food and drinks!

At Let’s Get Real, we take the self-advocates’ slogan “nothing about us without us” to heart in our practice. None of our work is possible without the support and ideas of our participants and self-advocates. We are committed to creating exciting opportunities for members to be a part of the project, and own it, by contributing their leadership skills, passions, and by participating in our monthly planning meetings as well.  Please email us at for more details.

All of our discussions are hosted in buildings that are wheelchair accessible. For our social events, we commit to work with accessible and inclusive businesses. We seek to remove physical, financial and social barriers wherever possible to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to access community space. We are also committed to an inclusive vision of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. For feedback, more information and to discuss your specific needs, please feel free to drop us a line.

Let’s Get Real is held on the unceded ancestral territories of the Musqueam/xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Squamish/Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, & Tsleil-Waututh/Sel̓íl̓witulh. Recognizing and acknowledging that we are on these lands is important to us. We support efforts to further Indigenous solidarity and especially the well-being of two-spirited folks.
